Ohio State Route 89 is a north-south route found only in Ashland County. This is about midway between Columbus and Cleveland. The southern end is at Ohio Route 95, near Ohio Route 179 and the unincorporated hamlet of Mohicanville. From there, Ohio Route 89 proceeds northward to serve Jeromesville. It crosses US Route 250 several miles east of Ashland. Ohio Route 89 stays east of Ashland, progressing north to serve the tiny town of Polk. The final portion of Ohio Route 89 bends northwesterly to reach Ohio Route 58, which can be used to progress farther northward into Lorain County.
My photo of Ohio State Route 89 comes from its 4-way intersection with Ohio Route 302. This is about six miles northeast of Ashland. Since Ohio Route 89 is a rather rural route, it should be no surprise to find that this photo was taken in a rural spot. Travelers turning off of Ohio Route 302 will see the trailblazer depicted if they turn toward the north on Ohio Route 89. Like all of my other northeastern Ohio photos, this photo was taken during the grand tour of northeastern Ohio in October 2022. Back to Ohio Routes 1-99. Back to the Ohio main page.
