Ohio State Route 666 runs north from Zanesville to Dresden, in Muskingum County. Ohio Route 60 also connects these two towns, but Ohio Route 60 runs on the west side of the Muskingum River, whereas Ohio Route 666 follows the east side of the river. At its southern end, Ohio Route 666 actually starts at Ohio Route 60, which is concurrent with Ohio Route 146. Ohio Route 666 finds its way northeast to a northerly road along the east side of the Muskingum River. The northern end in Dresden is at Ohio Route 208, just east of that city's central business district.
My photo for Ohio Route 666 signage shows a guide marker at a junction in Zanesville, where Ohio Route 666 turns onto the northerly road following the river. At this point, Ohio Route 666 has just gotten started along Hall Street, and now, it's turning left onto Lewis Drive. The guide marker faces northeasterly traffic looking to turn left to stay on the state highway. This photo was taken in March 2021, during the tour of southeastern Ohio.
