Ohio State Route 435 is a short connector to US Route 35 near Interstate 71. It runs along an old alignment of US Route 35. Ohio Route 435 meets an interchange with Interstate 71, whereas US Route 35 was rerouted onto a freeway to the north bypassing the interchange. To reach Interstate 71, US Route 35's traffic must first exit onto Ohio Route 435, which access the interchange. The western split from US Route 35 is the western end of Ohio Route 435. Ohio Route 435 heads through the interchange with Interstate 71 before meeting US Route 35 again. However, the east end of US Route 35's bypass is not the eastern end of Ohio Route 435. The state highway continues a little further east so it can access Ohio Route 729. That's where Ohio Route 435 ends, at Ohio Route 729. This whole situation is between Milledgeville and Jeffersonville, in near-southwestern Ohio.
My photo of Ohio Route 435 shows the westbound trailblazer seen by those leaving the interchange with Interstate 71. The aperture looks west, as does the traffic turning off the southbound offramp from Interstate 71 when they read this sign. This photo was taken in February 2017, as I drove from Columbus to Cincinnati to Indianapolis before returning home.
