^US Route 250 heads west from its split with US Route 42, bypassing Ashland to the north, October 2022.
US Route 250 is an interesting US highway, running northwest-southeast from Ohio to Virginia. The northwestern end of US Route 250 is at US Route 6 in Sandusky, Ohio; it's hard to continue any farther northwest when Lake Erie is in the way! From Sandusky, US Route 250 runs southeastward through Norwalk, Ashland, Wooster, New Philadelphia, and Cadiz. After crossing US Route 22 in Cadiz, US Route 250's next major destination is Wheeling, West Virginia. It crosses into Wheeling by turning onto the same bridge over the Ohio River that US Route 40 uses to reach Wheeling Island (and by extension, the rest of that city).
My photo of US Route 250 in Ohio comes from Cadiz, Ohio. The aperture looks south from the interchange with US Route 22, at a road carrying both US Route 250 and Ohio Route 9. The trailblazer depicted reflects the dual purpose of this roadway. This photo was taken near the northeastern extent of my grand tour around the southeastern quarter of Ohio, which took place in March 2021. Back to the Ohio US Highways page.
