Indiana State Route 144 once ran from Mooresville to Franklin, south of Indianapolis but still in central Indiana; however, the section right in the middle of it, between Indiana Routes 37 and 135, was deleted in 2014.  Now, Indiana Route 144 runs in two separate segments; the western one runs from Indiana Route 67 in Mooresville east to Indiana Route 37, and the eastern one goes from Indiana Route 135 in Bargersville, east to Indiana Route 44 in Franklin.
