Ohio State Route 58 runs north-south, serving Ashland, Oberlin, and Lorain in north-central Ohio. The northern end in Lorain is on the west side of town, at US Route 6. Ohio Route 58 embarks southerly from there, passing through Amherst to serve as the main north-south route through Oberlin. Then, it crosses Ohio Route 18 in Wellington, and it crosses US Route 224 at Sullivan. Soon after passing through Sullivan, Ohio Route 58 diverts southwesterly, but a new designation of Ohio Route 89 continues straight south. This final southwesterly piece of Ohio Route 58 ends in Ashland, at US Route 250.
My photo of Ohio State Route 58 signage comes from US Route 250, on the north side of Ashland. US Route 250 passes over Ohio Route 58 via bridge, but linkage is provided by an access road in the southwest quadrant of the crossing. The westbound junction marker shown in the photo is posted to help westbound travelers anticipate the turn onto that access road. To reach Ohio Route 58 from this westbound approach, drivers will need to make a left turn onto the access road, and then another left turn to the main alignment under the underpass. This photo was taken in October 2022, during a late phase of the tour around northeastern Ohio.
