Ohio State Route 183 is a north-south highway, running in areas east of Akron, areas east of Canton, and areas south of Canton. More specifically, it's shaped like the hands of a clock, if the clock says it's 8 o'clock. The north-south piece has its northernmost point (at "12" on the clock) at Ohio Route 14, a few miles southeast of Ravenna. This northern endpoint is very close to Ohio Route 18 and Interstate 76. As Ohio Route 183 starts out, it heads southerly past Atwater to Alliance. Ohio Route 183 serves as the main north-south highway in Alliance, and then it continues south to US Route 30 in Minerva. Ohio Route 183 joins US Route 30 west for a short distance through Minerva, and then its west-southwesterly phase begins. This west-southwesterly course passes through Malvern and Waynesburg, southeast of Canton. Near Sandyville, Ohio Route 183 reaches its westernmost point, where it ends at Ohio Route 800.
My photo of Ohio State Route 183 comes from the north side of Alliance, where it meets the eastern end of Ohio Route 619. The partial bypass of Alliance (Truck Route US 62 or whatever it is) was just to the south, to my back, as I took this photo. This photo was taken during the grand tour of northeastern Ohio in October 2022. Back to Ohio Routes 100-199. Back to the Ohio main page. Back to the home page.
