Ohio State Route 601 is a short route that spurs into Milan from the southeast. Thanks to Ohio Route 601, travelers coming from the south have the ability to bypass Norwalk to the northeast and head straight for Milan if that's all they wish to to. The route is in Huron County and Erie County, in north-central Ohio. The southeastern end of Ohio Route 601 is at Ohio Route 18, and the first part of the route runs north to US Route 20. Traffic from both Ohio Route 18 and US Route 20 will use Ohio Route 601 to bypass Norwalk and reach Milan. The northwestern end of Ohio Route 601, in the heart Milan, is at Ohio Route 113, just east of US Route 250 and Ohio Route 13.
My photo for Ohio Route 601 comes from its junction with US Route 20, which was recently upgraded to a roundabout. Those exiting the roundabout toward the north will see this scene, featuring the northbound reassurance marker. This photo was taken in October 2023, as I was finishing my Ohio shield gallery in north-central Ohio.
