Ohio State Route 385 runs east-west between two tiny towns, New Hampshire and Roundhead, in west-central Ohio. From Saint Marys east to Wapakoneta and beyond, US Route 33 maintains a fairly straight, easterly course. But at New Hampshire, US Route 33 suddenly dives southward. That's where Ohio Route 385 begins, continuing the easterly course that US Route 33 abandons. Note that the southern end of Ohio Route 196 also occurs at this western point of beginning for Ohio Route 385. From this point of beginning, ending in the tiny town of Roundhead in southwestern Hardin County. This eastern end is at Ohio Route 117, just two blocks from where that route splits with Ohio Route 235.
My photo of Ohio Route 385 shows the first eastbound trailblazer, at the route's western beginning in New Hampshire, Ohio. Those coming to the 4-way intersection from US Route 33 or Ohio Route 196 will see this scene if they turn toward the east. This photo was taken on Leap Day 2016, heading northwest from Columbus down the US Route 33 corridor.
