Ohio State Route 378 is a short north-south highway in the southernmost lobe of Ohio, north of Huntington, West Virginia. All of this route is in Lawrence County. The northern end is in the unincorporated hamlet of Aid, at Ohio Route 141. Farther south, Ohio Route 378 meets Ohio Route 775 midway through its route. The southern end is at Ohio Route 243 at the hamlet of Getaway. Taking Ohio Route 243 in either direction can help a traveler from Ohio Route 378 get down to the more populated areas in the Ohio River Valley.
My photo of Ohio Route 378 comes from its southern end in Getaway. Ohio Route 243 is working its way westward, but a northward bend corrects itself by turning left at this intersection, where Ohio Route 378. Therefore, the guide assembly in the photo indicates that Ohio Route 378 is forward, while Ohio Route 243 turns to the left; the aperture is facing north. This photo was taken during the March 2021 tour of southeastern Ohio.
