^The first southbound trailblazer on Iowa 137 as it leaves Iowa 163 in Eddyville, July 2017.
Iowa Route 137 is a short northeast-southwest connector in south-central Iowa, running from Eddyville to Albia. The northeastern end is at the expressway marked by US Route 63 and Iowa Route 163, right alongside the town of Eddyville. The southwestern endpoint is at Iowa Route 5 in Albia, just north of US Route 34.
My photo of Iowa Route 137 comes from the northeastern end of the highway. The sign assembly shown acts as the first southbound trailblazer, but a forward arrow is affixed to the sign to reinforce that turning right into Eddyville will not cause drivers to continue on Iowa Route 137.
