​Ohio State Route 285 is a north-south highway in Guernsey and Noble Counties. The southern end of Ohio Route 285 is on the north side of Caldwell, at Ohio Route 821.   From there, Ohio Route 285 starts out toward the northeast, but it soon straightens out toward the north to parallel Interstate 77 to the east.  Ohio Route 285 then serves the small towns of Sarahville, Senecaville, and Lore City.  It meets Interstate 70 and US Route 40 at Old Washington, a small town just east of Cambridge. The last 5 miles of Ohio Route 285 continue north of Old Washington to US Route 22, where Ohio Route 285 ends.

The photo shows the southbound trailblazer seen by those who decide to continue south from the junction with Ohio Route 566. This photo was taken during my tour all around southeastern Ohio in March 2021.​
