^Westbound trailblazer greeting drivers as they enter M-36 at the route's eastern beginning, from US Route 23, at Whitmore Lake, March 2019.
Michigan Highway 36 is a fairly short east-west route, paralleling Interstate 96 to the south, in the area between Ann Arbor and Lansing. It runs between Mason and Whitmore Lake. It's not purely east-west; as it makes it way eastward, it jogs to the south a few times. The western end in Mason is at the US Route 127 freeway; this is just south of Lansing. The eastern end is at another freeway carrying a US Route; this time, it's US Route 23 in Whitmore Lake.
My photo of Michigan Highway 36 comes from the eastern end at US Route 23 in Whitmore Lake, north of Ann Arbor. Early on a morning in March 2019, I took this photo of the first westbound trailblazer along Michigan Highway 36. US Route 23's freeway was right behind me when I looked west to take this photo.
