​Ohio State Route 539 is a short north-south route in western Wayne County. It runs from West Salem toward the south and southeast, toward Wooster.  That northwestern end in West Salem occurs at Ohio Route 301, a tiny distance south of US Route 42.  From there, Ohio Route 539 heads southeastward through an interchange with Interstate 71. It meets Ohio Route 604 in the small town of Congress, where it turns southerly. The southern end is at Ohio Route 302, just west of Wooster.  Most travelers at this end of Ohio Route 539 presumably join Ohio Route 302 into Wooster.

​My photo for Ohio Route 539 shows the first southbound trailblazer, seen by those turning off of Ohio Route 301.  This is at the northwestern end in West Salem.  Ohio Route 539 actually starts out toward the east before it curls toward the south, so the aperture is looking toward the east. This photo was taken in October 2022, as I was closing out the grand tour around northeastern Ohio.​
