US Route 123 is a short east-west route in northwestern South Carolina and extreme northeastern Georgia. The western end of US Route 123 is at US Route 23 between Toccoa and Clarkesville in Georgia. The route then goes eastward and almost immediately enters South Carolina. In South Carolina, US Route 123 heads through Seneca and Clemson as a 4-lane highway. It even has expressway elements between Clemson and Greenville. At Greenville, US Route 123 ends at US Route 29 right alongside downtown.
My photo for US Route 123 comes from US Route 29 in Greenville. Northbound travelers on US Route 29 see this junction marker as they approach the intersection with Academy Street, which carries US Route 123. US Route 29 runs along Church Street. This photo was taken in the rain, regrettably. My day in the Upstate was rained on from start to finish. This photo was taken in the April showers of 2024, during my trip to the Carolinas and the Delmarva. Back to the nationwide main page. Back to the home page.
