US Route 113 is a north-south transportation corridor on the Delmarva Peninsula, serving Delaware and Maryland. The northern end of US Route 113 occurs as it splits from Delaware Highway 1, a freeway, at Milford, Delaware. US Route 113 is a divided 4-lane highway for its entire length. Together with the piece of Delaware Highway 1 between Milford and Dover, US Route 113 provides a high-throughput eastern alternative to US Route 13 on the peninsula. Many miles south of Milford, US Route 113 crosses out of Delaware at Selbyville. It enters Maryland, where it tracks for another 37 miles. Many use US Route 113 as a way to get on US Route 50 east to Ocean City, at Berlin, Maryland. Finally, US Route 113 meets US Route 13, ending at Pocomoke City.
My photo for US Route 113 comes from its intersection with Delaware Route 54 in Selbyville, Delaware. Selbyville is along the southern edge of the state. This pair of guide markers helps eastbound travelers on Delaware Route 54. This photo was taken in April 2024, during my trip across Pennsylvania, the Delmarva, and the Carolinas.
