US Route 350 is one of the shortest US highways, and it exists only in southeastern Colorado. US Route 350 splits from its parent route, US Route 50, at La Junta, Colorado. From there, it proceeds toward the southwest, ending in Trinidad, Colorado, at US Route 160. The whole route is in the dry High Plains just east of Interstate 25 and the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Between the two endpoints, US Route 350 is very desolate. The route is only about 72 miles long.
My photo of US Route 350 comes from the southwestern end of the route, at US Route 160 just outside of Trinidad, Colorado. The New Mexico state line is about ten miles to the south of this point. The aperture looks northeast at the trailblazer greeting travelers who are joining US Route 350 at its southwestern point of beginning. This photo was taken in October 2024 during my trip through Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma.
