US Route 380 stretches from central New Mexico to northern Texas, skirting the north edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area just before ending in Greenville, Texas. The western end of US Route 380 is at Interstate 25 near Socorro, New Mexico. From there, US Route 380 treks eastward to Roswell, and then into Texas. US Route 380 stays very rural in Texas, passing south of Lubbock. It passes through Denton, then turns to Greenville. US Route 380 follows US Route 69 a short distance in Greenville to end at Interstate 30.
My photo of US Route 380 comes from the start of its eastbound concurrency with US Route 82. This concurrency goes from Plains, Texas, east to Brownfield, Texas. This dual trailblazer in Plains shows that US Route 380 has just joined US Route 82 toward the east. I snapped this photo in October 2024 during the trip across New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma.
